वरदमुद्रा

This gesture shows charity and the compassionate granting of wishes. It is usually made with the left hand, while the right hand makes a different mudra, often the "Calm-Down"/Abhayamudra vanquishing fear. The gesture is common in representations of Avalokiteshwara, a bodhisattva especially associated with compassion.

या मुद्रेने औदार्य किंवा करुणेच्या भावनेतून पूर्ण केल्या जाणाऱ्या इच्छांचा निर्देश होतो. सर्वसाधारणपणे उजवा हात अभयमुद्रेत दर्शविला जातो, तेव्हा डाव्या हाताने ही वरदमुद्रा दर्शविली जाते. अवलोकितेश्वर या करुणाप्रधान बोधिसत्त्वांच्या मूर्तींमध्ये ही मुद्रा बऱ्याच वेळा पाहायला मिळते.
